THE Grain Marketing Board (GMB) has made its intention to reclaim its status as one of the country's biggest manufacturers of processed products by launching a series of radio advertisements that are being aired on local radio stations since April this year. It has been a long time since GMB engaged in this aggressive marketing of its products through mass media channels.
The adverts are riding on the theme, “Mabika Nei (What have you cooked with?)” whereby everyone is being invited to include in their food basket the Silo Range of products. GMB's Head of Sales and Marketing, Ms Caroline Tamirepi said the launch of the advertisements was meant to build the brand image of GMB, at the same time growing the market share. “Our aim is to present the silo brand with an emotion to make existing and potential customers connect to it beyond its current offerings.
Yes, silo is 'THE BRAND' and must stand for something meaningful in the minds and hearts of consumers. It should be the brand of choice – very unique and different from competing brands,” she said. Ms Tamirepi added that plans are afoot to follow up with a series of television advertisement. The Silo brand is GMB's dominant brand. Other brand names under the GMB include Pagoda for its Premium Rice, Dely Flour and Country Feeds for its stock feed range.
